Protesters gathered Monday in Union Square for the 49th Tibetan National Uprising Day. Organizers stood on a stage and led an audience of hundreds, many waving Tibetan flags, in chants. Protests happen every year on the anniversary date to oppose Chinese occupation of Tibet.
